Denim used to be so cool. Washed denim, boot cut design, James Dean looks and a stylish white T shirt. For the ladies though, and for some guys, it used to be the ripped jeans that did the look justice. But then we realised one thing; rips are bad. Ripped jeans looked broken and, of course, rips get bigger over time. What if you catch them on something? What if they split in the wash? It seems, however, that people have chosen to not learn anything from history.
Sat in a coffee shop today I saw it again. A girl sat opposite me had ripped jeans, rips straight across the knees. I thought maybe it just happened; I mean, rips happen right? Things get ripped sometimes. But it wasn’t a coincidence. Across Nottingham I saw them; rip after rip, jeans after jeans and girl and girl. Why has this of all looks decided to make a comeback? I didn’t want to ask, of course, because the girls sure were pretty!
