Kate Middleton wears another Jenny Packham dress on tour in Singapore

It’s strike two for Jenny Packham on the Duchess of Cambridge’s Asian tour! This morning, Kate visited a war memorial in Singapore wearing a bespoke duck-egg blue shirt-dress. It’s a sign that, along with McQueen’s Sarah Burton, Packham is fast becoming one of Kate’s most favoured designers. She wore an oriental print kimono dress by the Brit designer for her first appearance on this tour and she’s regularly seen at official functions and relaxed polo games wearing her designs here in the UK.

The Duchess loves Jenny Packham

So let’s analyse this outfit. The colour is taken from the hue seen at Jenny Packham’s 2011 Spring collection but the outfit is customized to be classic Kate. A pleated skirt falling just to the knee, nipped in at the waist and with buttons and lace detailing down the front, it’s a similar shape to that yellow Jenny Packham dress that won Kate plaudits on her tour of the Canada and the USA last year.

And just when you thought Kate had stepped away from her oh-so appropriate dressing – wearing a dress with an orchid pattern to visit an orchid filled Botanic garden, say – she added a touch of the Orient to her very British dress by carrying a matching parasol to tour the War Memorial. Well, that famous hair does need some protection from the midday heat!

It’s only day three of the royal couple’s tour of Asia but it’s already proving a fashion feast. The Duchess of Cambridge has already worn a Jenny Packham kimono-style dress, an orchid print frock by Prabal Gurung, a white skirt suit by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen and snazzily-printed silk separates by RAOUL and now this Jenny Packham number.
