Excitement has been mounting over the last few weeks in Grazia HQ as we tick off the days until Anna Dello Russo’s H&M collaboration arrives in stores. From October 4th 140 stores will be stocking the 50-strong collection of pieces which include jewellery, sunglasses, shoes, bags and even a trolley – glamorous grannies everywhere rejoice! Last week we interviewed Alex Turney, the man behind ADR’s Fashion Shower music video and now WWD reports that the campaign pictures, shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott are due to surface any moment. If the image below of ADR straddling a giant gold shoe is anything to go by, we know they’re all going be fabulous. The lady herself has had plenty to say about the collection, including spilling the beans on her inspiration.
‘I wanted to re-create the excitement of the fashion week tour, when you enter a dreamy fashion bubble that is almost a parallel reality. I tried to capture that sense of freedom, joy and excitement.’ ADR has certainly inspired a lot of excitement at New York Fashion Week so far where she’s had more costume changes than a Lady Gaga tour. And she’s been capturing all her bling on Instagram too! She explains, ‘Accessories are like vitamins to fashion – as such, you should use them liberally.’

The fashion editor and blogger also spoke about how her H&M collection is infused with a magical quality in order to brighten up the plainness of everyday life. She said, ‘Airports will be less grey and impersonal if you bring this kind of travel wear with you. It’s like a dash of fairy tale magic, or Alice’s white rabbit – a door to a new dimension.’ Check out the Instagram pics ADR took at the campaign shoot above and below for confirmation of just how the fantastical the pieces really are.
Check back here and in the magazine tomorrow where Grazia’s Hannah Almassi and the Fashion Team will be road testing the pieces!
